Why we built this
Citation tools should not require a login.
Most citation generators ask you to create an account before you can save a bibliography. That is backwards. The tool exists to serve the student, not to collect email addresses. If you are in a library at midnight finishing a paper, you should not need to remember a password.
MLA Citation stores everything in your browser. Your bibliographies are yours. They do not live on a server. They do not expire when a company closes or changes its pricing.
What we built

- Autocite from any URL (via Open Graph, JSON-LD, oEmbed), DOI (CrossRef), or ISBN (OpenLibrary + Google Books).
- Real-time live preview with a citation linter that flags missing required fields.

- Multiple bibliography projects stored in localStorage.
- Full drag-to-reorder, alphabetize, edit, duplicate, and delete for Works Cited lists.
